3 Teens Steal Peninsula Man's Lexus At Gunpoint, Police Say
The trio was caught a short time later and arrested in connection to the carjacking, police said.

SAN MATEO, CA — Three teen-aged men were arrested this week in connection to a San Mateo carjacking, police announced. Of those arrested, the youngest is just 16 years old.
On Saturday around 9:30 p.m. a man was sitting in his parked Lexus in the 2100 block of Stratford Way when he was approached by three men, according to San Mateo Police. The suspects carjacked the victim at gunpoint, taking his vehicle and cellphone. The man called police about 30 minutes later when he got home and could report the crime.
"Officers responded to the area of the incident to look for the suspects and they also met with the victim at his home," police said in a news release. "Following a delay from when the crime was committed to when it was reported, the suspects were not located nearby and officers began actively investigating the incident."

Police said the Lexus was located "quickly" in San Francisco and that two people were inside.
"The SMPD Crime Reduction Unit stopped the vehicle and both occupants were identified as the suspects involved in the carjacking," police said. "The driver was identified as a 16-year-old male and the passenger was identified as 18-year-old Quinn Dodds, both of who were ultimately arrested."

It didn't take long for police to then identify the third suspect, 19-year-old Barry Vers of South San Francisco. Police went to his home and arrested him on suspicion of carjacking, robbery and grand theft.
Dodds, who lives in San Carlos, was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, robbery and grand theft as well. Both Vers and Dodds were taken to the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City.
The 16-year-old, who lives in South San Francisco, was arrested on the same charges but taken to Hillcrest Juvenile Hall.
