Brahms Requiem

Oct 31 at 2pm and Nov 1st at 4pm

Brahms' Requiem is both deeply personal and profoundly universal, honoring the dead but explicitly written for the living. Known as the German Requiem, its seven movements use texts chosen by Brahms from the German Lutheran bible rather than the traditional Latin mass. Full of emotional expressiveness that acknowledges the inevitability of loss, the necessity of grief, and the blessing of solace, this masterpiece takes listeners on a journey from despondency to comfort, grounded in faith and love. Performed with orchestra.
