Sheriff's officials say the event included personnel from all across the county. (Breaking)

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Emergency responders from across San Mateo County are continuing their efforts at being prepared should disaster strike locally. Personnel from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services (OES) held a "full-scale emergency exercise" over the weekend, the sheriff's office says.
The event happened Saturday at Huddart County Park and Phelger Estate in the Woodside area. Sheriff's officials say that among those who participated were: Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services, CalFire, Woodside Fire Protection District, San Mateo County Parks, Mid-Peninsula Open Space District, National Parks Service, CERT members from around the county and a large animal evacuation group.
"The full-scale exercise was designed to develop unified command between public safety agencies and communications, prepare a response to communities in San Mateo County and ensure coordination, timely and effective response, and recovery," sheriff's Det. Salvador Zuno said Tuesday.

"The exercise was a two-evolution simulation that focused on first responders’ efforts to search and recover missing individuals and establishing an evacuation process from a wildland fire," he added.
Zuno encouraged area residents to sign up for San Mateo County’s free public notification system, SMC Alert. Go to www.smcalert.info for more information.
