Highway 101 Crash Prompts Sig Alert, Extra Traffic Monday Evening

BREAKING: Traffic in the Peninsula was even slower than normal.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Peninsula commuters faced some extra gridlock on Monday afternoon, after a multi-vehicle collision on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just north of the Woodside Road off-ramp in Redwood City blocked all but one lane of traffic during the afternoon rush hour commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP issued a Sig-alert at 4:37 p.m. and later canceled it, announcing all lanes open at 5:47 p.m.

Only minor injuries were reported in the collision, according to CHP officials.
