Make a Difference in Redwood City! Recruitment Underway for Various Boards, Commissions

City Urges Those Seeking to Make a Difference in their Community to Apply by April 5, 2017

REDWOOD CITY, CA – Looking to make a difference? The City of Redwood City announced today the recruitment period for various open seats on advisory Boards, Commissions and Committees. The City will start accepting online applications starting today for seven expiring and two new seats.

"Having residents who are committed to working on our Boards, Commissions and Committees is key to getting the local expertise and input we need to help the City keep moving our community forward," said John D. Seybert, City of Redwood City Mayor. "I'm pleased the Council expanded the Complete Streets Committee, which in the past two years since it launched has been instrumental in recommending ways to improve traffic calming and parking programs. I urge residents and non-residents looking to make a direct impact to apply for one of our Boards, Commissions and Committees."

All members serve without compensation and cannot hold any other public office or position in the City while serving. Disclosing economic interests is a requirement to serve on any City Board, Commission, or Committee. All volunteer positions listed below are appointed by the City Council except for the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, which is appointed by the Planning Commission. The City Council may interview all applicants before formal appointment.

Recruitment begins today and runs through April 5, 2017 for these openings below. Use the links below to learn more about each advisory body:
