We are the only organization that delivers essential services and personalized support to connect the people living in poverty among us to the full range of resources and services they need. More than just ensuring our clients are fed, clothed, healthy, and housed, we help them create their own stability and remain an active, successful part of the community. Over recent years, more and more families in San Mateo County have been thrust into poverty. From the COVID-19 pandemic, to increasing wealth inequality, to the impacts of inflation and the housing crisis, the financial pressures on our neighbors have grown. NORTH FAIR OAKS, CA: A 52-year-old man who died after a recreational vehicle caught fire in unincorporated North Fair Oaks on Sunday morning has been identified as Rolando Garza, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office. Menlo Park Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a garage at 3190 Park Road just before 6 a.m. Sunday. They found a RV parked next to the garage, extinguished the fire and checked for victims. Garza was found inside in full cardiac arrest, according to firefighters. He was taken to a hospital in Santa Clara County, where he was pronounced dead. Firefighters determined that <a href="https://patch.com/california/menlopark-atherton/menlo-park-fire-crews-attempt-save-man-burning-rv" target="_blank">the fire</a> was likely caused by an extension cord running through the driver's side door of the RV. -- By Bay City News Service; Image via Menlo Fire Battalion 1
