Man Shot Multiple Times at Peninsula Bowling Alley: Police

BREAKING: Police say the man was shot multiple times and has been hospitalized in serious condition.

SAN MATEO, CA — A man is in serious but stable condition Saturday, following an overnight shooting at a Peninsula bowling alley, police say.

According to the San Mateo Police Department, they received multiple reports of shots fired around 10 p.m. Friday at the Bel Mateo Bowl at 4330 Olympic Way.

"Within minutes police and fire arrived at the location and found a male victim on the ground at the outer entry way suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," police said in a news release Saturday morning. "He was immediately transported to a local trauma center and is currently in serious but stable condition."

Police said that, based on witness interviews and other information learned at the scene, they believe the shooting was "... likely a targeted and isolated incident."
