Parolee Convicted In Violent Peninsula Attack On Mother Of His Child

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 38-year-old parolee was convicted Wednesday of attempted murder, felony stalking and a number of other offenses for attacking the mother of his child in Daly City shortly after getting out of prison in 2016, San Mateo County prosecutors said Thursday.

Shikeb Saddozai found the victim Feb. 6 and got into a fight with her, choking and hitting her, then later texting that he was "going to get her," according to the district attorney's office.

Two days later he cut off his ankle bracelet monitor, broke into her apartment, brandished a knife and chased her outside, where witnesses saw him threatening to kill her and called police. Saddozai fled but was arrested after police arrived and shot him in the arm when he confronted them, prosecutors said.

After a 13-day jury trial, Saddozai was convicted of attempted murder, felony stalking, brandishing a weapon, residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, misdemeanor domestic violence and criminal threats. He was found not guilty of felony domestic violence, however.

This is a second-strike case for Saddozai, who returns to court for sentencing July 12. He remains in custody on $500,000 bail.

Defense attorney William Daley was not immediately available for comment on the conviction.
