A neighbor's tip helped police catch the suspect in a Peninsula burglary as he walked out of the home holding his loot, authorities said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A neighbor's tip about an in-progress burglary at a San Mateo apartment led police to surround the building and catch the suspect as he left holding the loot, the San Mateo Police Department said.

Police received a report at 10:48 a.m. Monday about a burglary at an apartment complex on North El Camino Real. The caller said he saw a man climb into an enclosed patio and open a sliding door to enter the apartment, police said.
