Peninsula Child Porn Suspect Arrested In FBI, Police Raid

BREAKING: Police say that 14,000 child pornographic images were found on man's electronic devices.

PACIFICA, CA – A 28-year-old Pacifica man was arrested this week when the FBI and police served a search warrant at his residence, ultimately discovering a stash of child pornography with thousands of images, police say. Marlon Ramirez was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail, records indicate.

According to Pacifica police, the agency first began investigating a residence on Eastridge Circle some time ago.

"The operation was the culmination of an investigation that began earlier this year after detectives became aware that a subject in the City of Pacifica was downloading child pornography images via the Internet," Police Chief Daniel Steidle said in a news release.

With the help of an FBI computer task force, authorities served a search warrant at the home around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

"While searching the residence, detectives found numerous computers and electronic devices," Steidle said. "The devices that were located were examined by the FBI forensic computer agents while on scene, and approximately 14,000 child pornographic images were located within the devices."

Ramirez "provided a statement to investigators" and was arrested on charges of possession and circulation of child pornography, Steidle said.

Jail records indicate that Ramirez was due in court on Wednesday.

Further details about the case were not immediately available.
