Peninsula DUI Enforcement Operations Happening This Weekend
Police say they'll be out in full force.

Pacifica, CA – Several law enforcement officers from various Peninsula agencies will be out looking for impaired drivers on local roadways this weekend, it was announced Friday.
"Officers and deputies from the Burlingame PD, Pacifica PD, Daly City PD, and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office’s DUI Enforcement Teams will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association’s ongoing traffic safety campaign," Burlingame Police Sgt. Jim Ford says.
DUI saturation patrols are scheduled for the Half Moon Bay and Pacifica areas in particular. The operations are slated to start at 6 p.m. Saturday and last until 2 a.m. Sunday.

"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily," Ford said. "When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes."
Funding for the DUI operation comes from federal and state grants.
