Peninsula Man Accidentally Drives Into His Apartment: Police
Officials say the man's foot got caught on the gas pedal, causing him to slam through a wall of his residence.

BELMONT, CA- A man accidentally drove through a wall to his apartment in Belmont over the weekend, police say.
Firefighters and police officers responded at 2:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a crash in the 500 block of Ralston Avenue, according to Belmont Police Captain Patrick Halleran.
A 57-year-old Belmont resident was backing up and parking his 1999 Ford F-150 truck when his foot got stuck on the gas pedal. He backed up through a wall to his apartment, making his unit and an adjacent unit uninhabitable, according to police.

“There were no injuries, but the collision caused major damage to the man’s apartment and the wall with an adjacent apartment,” Halleran said in a news release.
The residents of that apartment were not home during the crash, he said. A car parked next to the man’s truck and belonging to his wife was also damaged.

“Both the man’s apartment and the adjacent apartment were red-tagged due to the damage,” Halleran said. “The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced occupants with temporary housing.”
Neither drugs nor alcohol played a part in the crash, according to police.
