Peninsula Neck-Stabbing Suspect Won't Be Charged For Now, Prosecutors Say
A man died in the incident after he and the suspect were fighting, sheriff's officials said.

HALF MOON BAY, CA — A suspect in a stabbing death of another man Thursday in Half Moon Bay will not be charged at least for now, San Mateo County prosecutors say. John Peters, 67, of Half Moon Bay was arrested following a stabbing in the 800 block of Main Street Thursday evening.
Assistant District Attorney Al Serrato said prosecutors are going to give deputies more time to finish their investigation.
Serrato would not say whether Peters was defending himself in what has been described as a fight at about 7 p.m. Thursday night.

"That's something we're looking at," Serrato said. "Generally that's something we look at. That's not an uncommon area of inquiry."
Deputies who responded to the fight found two men on the ground in the front of a home and one man bleeding heavily from a stab wound to his neck.
