PG&E spokesman Jason King said the flow of gas was stopped at 11:05 a.m.

Only one customer was impacted, and repairs are currently in progress. “It will probably take a couple hours to get that customer back up,” King said.

King also used the incident as an opportunity to stress the importance of calling 811 before digging to avoid damaging utility lines.

“This highlights the importance of calling 811 before any digging project, no matter how large or small,” King said.

The landscapers did not call 811 before getting started, King said.
