Police: Peninsula Pair Robbed While Trying to Buy Pills
Police say the victims, who were from San Mateo, went to Newark to buy pills as part of a drug deal.

Police are investigating a recent armed robbery in Newark.
Officers responded Oct. 20 at 9:24 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery in the area of California Street. Police said the male and female victims traveled from San Mateo to purchase pills in Newark so the male could get high.

The victims were parked on California Street when three suspects robbed them at gunpoint, police said.
One of the suspects was described as a black man wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head that partially covered his face. He was the suspect armed with a handgun.
