Recognize This Man? Belmont Police Want To Speak With Him In Connection With Safeway Incident Involving Child

BELMONT, CA - Belmont Police would like to talk to a man who allegedly was part of a disturbance involving a child Tuesday afternoon at a Safeway on El Camino Real. It is possibly a mere "parenting issue," but authorities are hoping to verify the incident.

On Tuesday at approximately 4:15 p.m., Belmont police received reports of a man grabbing a boy approximately 10 years old and carrying him from the Safeway supermarket at 1100 El Camino Real. The man exited the store quickly and the two left in a white Dodge Caravan, new with paper plates, that also was occupied by a second boy in his teens, police said.

Investigators suspect this may be a parent dealing with a "very active child." However, Belmont PD wishes to confirm what happened and check on the welfare of the boy.

The adult is described as a clean-shaven male in his 30s to 40s with a medium complexion and short dark hair. He was reported wearing a gray or taupe-colored, V-neck T-shirt and black cargo shorts. The boy was described as approximately 10 years old with short dark hair, wearing a gray or taupe T-shirt and black shorts.
