Redwood City $135K Porsche Carjack Suspect Leads Cops On Chase
Carjack suspect led the CHP on a wild chase across the San Mateo Bridge and into the East Bay that culminated with his arrest in Fremont.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City carjack suspect who police said stole a $135,000 Porsche from a dealership over the weekend was arrested in the East Bay after leading authorities on a wild chase over the San Mateo Bridge Saturday, Redwood City police said.
Officers said a salesman at Carlsen Porsche on Haven Avenue was showing Jeremy Morton a car on the lot about 4:45 p.m. Saturday when, after starting the engine of the pricy sportscar, the suspect, along with the clerk, got out of the car.
Police said the suspect then reached under his clothing, and the salesman saw what appeared to be the outline of a handgun being pointed at him. The suspect demanded the keys, and then drove off with the Porsche.
