Redwood City Brings Its A-Game in Kickball Tournament

Thirty-eight teams from all over the Bay Area competed in the area's only kickball tournament.

Hundreds of Bay Area residents participated in the fifth annual "Kick It" kickball tournament Saturday. Thirty-eight teams competed at the Pacific Shores Center for the title of "Kickball champions."

But despite the growing attendance, teams remained friendly and said the event was more about having a good time and enjoying the day with friends.

What started out as a small event of sixteen teams has grown to include teams of all backgrounds and ethnicities, and co-director Paul Guirao said it's only growing bigger each year.
