Redwood City Man Caught Breaking Into Car At Caltrain Lot: Police

Police say the man was caught in the act of burglarizing a vehicle that was parked at a local Caltrain lot. (breaking)

SAN BRUNO, CA — A Redwood City man was recently arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a vehicle parked at a local Caltrain parking lot, police say. At 6:48 a.m. Thursday, officers went to the Caltrain parking lot at 833 San Mateo Ave. in San Bruno after someone called to report a burglary in progress.

"Upon their arrival, Officers located 46-year-old Matthew Spessard of Redwood City, inside of the vehicle that was reported to have been burglarized," police said in a news release. "The ensuing investigation revealed that Spessard had broken one of the vehicle’s windows to access its interior."

The man was ultimately arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
