Redwood City Mayor Announces City Clerk's Retirement
"We're very grateful to Silvia for her 12 total years of dedicated public service to the City of Redwood City," said Mayor Seybert.

REDWOOD CITY, CA - Mayor John D. Seybert announced Monday the retirement of City Clerk Silvia Vonderlinden, which will take place June 2017.
"We're very grateful to Silvia for her 12 total years of dedicated public service to the City of Redwood City," said Mayor Seybert. "Her last nine years as our dedicated City Clerk were outstanding, and we will miss her very much. We wish her well in her journey overseas to start a new chapter in her family's life."
The City Council is expected to commence an executive search immediately in order to appoint a new City Clerk. The mission of the City Clerk Department is to steward and protect democratic processes, such as elections, access to official records, and to comply with federal, state and local statutes. The department supports the City Council in its goals of innovation, transparency and fairness while promoting community participation and awareness.

"It has been my honor and privilege to serve five mayors and five city councils in Redwood City between 2007 and 2017 during my tenure as City Clerk," said Vonderlinden. "I have grown tremendously as an individual and a professional, thanks in large part to the leaders I have supported and served."
Vonderlinden started her two-decade public service career with the City of Redwood City, followed by a stint as City Clerk with the City of Menlo Park. She returned to the City of Redwood City in 2007. She holds a master's in public administration.
