Redwood City, Menlo Park Teens Nabbed For Prowling

The teens, aged 15 to 18, were allegedly shining flashlights into parked cars and tried fleeing when officers arrived, according to police.

MILPITAS, CA — Police in Milpitas on Monday arrested two adults and cited two teens in connection with a prowling incident.

Darius Lamont Gipson, 18, of Menlo Park, was arrested on suspicion of prowling, hit and run and possession of a burglary tool, and Isaiah Ramon Norton, 18, of Redwood City, was arrested on suspicion of prowling, according to the Milpitas Police Department.

A 17-year-old male from Redwood City and a 15-year-old male from Menlo Park were issued citations for prowling and curfew violation and were released to their parents.

On Monday at 12:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious males shining flashlights into parked cars on Washington Drive. The suspects fled the scene when officers arrived and tried to drive away in a black 2003 Honda Accord.

The driver sped away and struck a stop sign, but police stopped the vehicle and took the four occupants into custody.
