Police in Redwood City say an 11-year-old girl reported as a runaway yesterday has been located safe.
Yatziri Valdavinos went to school in Menlo Park on Thursday and then sent her mother several texts after school, saying she was spending the night at a friend’s house, but would not say where she was, police said.

She would not tell her mother the friend’s name or address.
Police said she was found at school today.

REDWOOD CITY, CA- Police in Redwood City are asking for the public’s help in locating an 11-year-old girl who might have run away from home.
On Thursday, Yatziri Valdavinos went to school in Menlo Park. Police said she sent her mother several texts after school, saying she was spending the night at a friend’s house, but would not say where she was. She would not tell her mother the friend’s name or address.
Valdavinos is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, 125 pounds and with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an orange shirt and a green jacket.
Anyone with information on Yatziri Valdavinos’ whereabouts is asked to call police at (650) 780-7100.
