The following is an announcement from the City of Redwood City:

The City of Redwood City announced today a set of City Council meetings to discuss and engage the community on major issues facing the city. The community is encouraged to attend upcoming City Council meetings to provide feedback and ideas on important citywide issues. In addition to the scheduled meetings, the City will collect feedback from the public on related topics via email and through the City’s social media channels on Facebook, Next Door, and Twitter in an effort to collaborate with residents on solutions and strategies.

“The City Council encourages residents to be engaged and join the conversation on a number of important topics facing the City of Redwood City,” said John Seybert, City of Redwood City mayor. “We know not everyone can attend Council meetings; residents are welcome to watch online or on television, share input via the City’s website and social media channels on Facebook, Next Door and Twitter and send their ideas to the City Council via email.”

All upcoming discussions will occur at the City of Redwood City Council Chambers at City Hall during regularly scheduled City Council meetings beginning at 7 p.m. The City Council meetings are open to the public and residents can attend in person to provide their feedback or watch on TV or online.

The following issues will be discussed at upcoming City Council meetings over the next two months:

January 25: Peninsula Clean Energy (Community Choice Aggregation Program) The City has the opportunity to participate in Peninsula Clean Energy (Community Choice Aggregation Program)-a program that allows customers to increase the power they receive from renewable energy sources. The City Council will hear a presentation from the County of San Mateo on this program and what it could mean for our community and residents.

January 25: Farm Hill Blvd. Pilot Update The City has temporarily modified the lanes on Farm Hill Blvd. to assess whether this improves traffic safety. This update will provide information about data collected and community feedback provided over the last several months.

February 8: Growth Management This City Council meeting will include a discussion about growth related issues, and the best way to continue engaging the public around addressing associated challenges.

February 22: Council Priority Setting Session, Mid-Year Budget and Capital Improvement Program Update
At this meeting, City Council will:

  1. Hold a priority setting session for the year ahead
  2. Hear a mid-year budget update
