Silicon Valley Cyclist Hit By Car, Suffers Head Injuries

A bicyclist was hospitalized with head injuries Tuesday after they were hit in Silicon Valley before sunrise, officials report.

According to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, the rider was hit by a vehicle in Sunnyvale around 6:20 a.m. in the area of El Camino Real and South Pastoria Avenue.

Westbound lanes on El Camino Real from South Mathilda to South Pastoria avenues and southbound lanes on South Pastoria Avenue from West Olive Avenue to El Camino Real were closed for an investigation around 7 a.m.

No further information was immediately available.
