Woodside's Miller Leads Locals in PAL Ocean Awards

Woodside High softball star Ashley Miller was named a Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division co-pitcher of the year on Tuesday. The senior left-hander shares the honor with San Mateo junior Bailey Sutton, the 2010 recipient.

Miller headlines a strong group of local players who received recognition. Woodside juniors Kimi Wong and Samantha Parker and sophomore Rebecca Pilakowski were all named to the All-PAL Ocean first team. Sequoia also placed three players on the first team: senior Niki Serrano, junior Nicole Kielty and sophomore Mikayla Wilkes.

Woodside’s Amanda Canepa, Allie Effisimo and Allie McBride all received second-team recognition, alongside Sequoia’s Caitlin Castagnola, Sarah Singh, Ashley Killmon and Tarah Brunelle.
