A man found shot and killed just a few blocks from Oakland's Lake Merritt early Tuesday morning was identified by police today as 49-year-old Oakland resident Allen Lewis.<ul><li><a href="https://patch.com/california/piedmont/man-shot-killed-near-lake-merritt-0">Man Shot, Killed Near Lake Merritt</a></li></ul> Lewis was found suffering from a gunshot wound just after 5 a.m. in the 300 block of East 17th Street, a narrow residential street in Oakland's Eastlake neighborhood, police said. He was pronounced dead there. Police have made no arrests in the shooting and are continuing to investigate the case.
