Man Shot, Killed Near Lake Merritt
Anyone with information about the fatal shooting has been asked to contact the Oakland police homicide section at (510) 238-3821.

A man was shot and killed just a few blocks from Oakland’s Lake Merritt early this morning, according to police. Officers responding to reports of gunshots found a man shot in the 300 block of East 17th Street just after 5 a.m., police said. The man was pronounced dead there. The victim’s identity his not been released.
