ROHNERT PARK, CA — Two arrests have been made in connection with a fatal shooting May 27 in Rohnert Park. Alan Albor, 30, of Cotati, was shot and killed in the parking lot of a bank at 250 Rohnert Park Expressway.

Albor was found face down in the westbound lanes of Rohnert Park Expressway near the entrance to the parking lot. He suffered a gunshot wound to his upper chest in the shooting that happened around 9 p.m. May 27, Rohnert Park police said.

Through reviewing surveillance video and speaking with witnesses, detectives determined Albor was sitting in his pickup truck in the parking lot when a dark-colored Acura sedan pulled in and parked several spaces away from him.

In a news release Thursday, Rohnert Park police said detectives were able to see on surveillance video that there was a passenger in Albor's truck at the time of the incident.

The passenger was seen getting out of Albor's truck and provoking the fight that ensued in the parking lot, police said.

Based on evidence found in Albor's truck as well as surveillance video, investigators identified the passenger as Jesus Antonio Arango-Lopez.

Rohnert Park police met with Arango-Lopez and his attorney June 1 at the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety. Based on the interview and a review of the case by the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office, Arango-Lopez was taken into custody that day.

Rohnert Park police said because Arango-Lopez is suspected of committing a "provocative act" just before the shooting, his arrest charge was homicide.

Prior to Arango-Lopez's arrest, a gray Acura TSX with a license plate number that matched the one from the crime scene turned up May 28 in Clearlake. The car was impounded as evidence and the driver was released after an interview with Rohnert Park detectives.

Rohnert Park investigators went back to Clearlake June 3 with a Ramey Warrant for the arrest of Oscar Martin Reyes, a Clearlake resident and the owner of the Acura.

"After the initial interview and release of Reyes, detectives continued their investigation and collected more evidence as well as surveillance video from multiple locations of Reyes the same day of the shooting wearing the same clothing," Rohnert Park police said.

Reyes was arrested at his home without incident, and was booked into Lake County Jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of an illegal firearm.

Neither suspect remained in custody as of Thursday, according to Rohnert Park police.

"No more information regarding the case will be released at this time," police said.
