5 Earthquakes Rattle North Bay
Here's what the U.S. Geological Survey has to say about Tuesday night's earthquakes.
NORTH BAY AREA, CA — Five earthquakes were felt in the North Bay Area Tuesday night, the largest magnitude being 4.4, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The five quakes occurred in less than an hour in the northwest corner of Sonoma County along the border with Lake County in the Mayacamas Mountains.
The nearest towns are Cloverdale, about 20 miles west, and Cobb, about 5 miles east in Lake County.

They ranged from magnitude 2.8 to 4.4 between 10:39 p.m. and 11:31 p.m.
No injuries were reported in any of the quakes.

According to the USGS, people typically report being able to feel earthquakes larger than about magnitude 2.5.
Earlier in the day, Santa Clara County had an earthquake of 3.0 while San Benito County experienced a 3.3 shaker.
