Watch: Bizarre Inventory Discovered During Ghostly House Raid

Investigators found mystery stockpiles inside a home packed with unopened boxes and piles of merchandise.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A flashlight beam cut through darkened rooms in a Santa Rosa home where Sonoma County investigators found stacks of unopened boxes and piles of merchandise.

As part of an ongoing retail theft probe, investigators from the Santa Rosa Police Property Crimes Unit and the Gang Unit, and the District Attorney’s Office Organized Retail Theft Unit, searched the home in the 100 block of Neville Way.

Officers and a K9 unit swept room to room, illuminating what authorities described as a stockpile of suspected stolen goods — baseball caps, plastic hangers, Halloween masks, socks, plants, toys, and other items, many still sealed in original packaging.

Organized retail theft is marked by coordinated networks that steal goods in bulk and resell them online or through secondary markets like pawn shops, according to the FBI. These operations can extend beyond retail losses, sometimes being funneled into other enterprises.

Investigators have not made any arrests, and officials say the case remains active as they work to identify those involved and trace the flow of the merchandise.
