Camera Store Employees Detain Teens Who Robbed Them, Police Say

The third suspect escaped, and police found the pistol on the ground and recovered the merchandise, according to Santa Rosa PD.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Santa Rosa police arrested two Oakland teens Thursday on suspicion of robbing a camera store. Three suspects, one armed with a 9mm pistol, entered the Shutterbug Camera store at 3011 Santa Rosa Ave. around 11:45 a.m. Thursday, police said. The suspects grabbed photography items from a counter and put them in backpacks, police said.

The suspects tried to flee when store employees confronted them, but the employees managed to detain an adult and juvenile until police arrived. A store employee was bitten on the arm during the struggle with the suspects, police said.

The third suspect escaped, and police found the pistol on the ground and recovered the merchandise.

Nelson Green, 18, and a 14-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of robbery. Green was booked in the Sonoma County Jail and the juvenile was booked in Juvenile Hall.

The third suspect is described as a black male, 13-16 years old, 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 7 inches and approximately 95-120 pounds. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said.
