Convicted Felon Busted With Loaded Gun, Drugs: Police

The "suspicious" vehicle of the man and his companion caught the eye of an officer patrolling a local motel's parking lot.

ROHNERT PARK, CA – Two individuals, one a convicted felon, were arrested on weapon- and drug-related charges Thursday evening after a "suspicious vehicle" caught the attention of a Rohnert Park officer patrolling a motel parking lot, authorities said.

At about 5:30 p.m., an officer driving through the lot at Good Nite Inn on Redwood Drive spotted "a suspicious vehicle occupied by two people," the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

One individual in the vehicle, 31-year-old Lao Puapheng of Sacramento, was on probation for a previous vehicle theft, and a search conducted, due to his probation terms, allegedly found him to be in possession of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol, with one round in the chamber, as well as a loaded high-capacity magazine, police said.

Also reportedly found were "a large amount" of marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, and Puapheng was arrested, the department said.

The other person in the vehicle, Reychel Dizon, 33 from Sacramento, allegedly was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and also was arrested, according to officials.

Both were transported to the Sonoma County Jail without incident.
