Expensive Mountain Bike Stolen From Rohnert Park, Police Say

A suspect in a minivan put on a yellow traffic type vest to portray he was a possible city or PG&E worker, police said.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — An expensive mountain bike was stolen from a Rohnert Park neighborhood and police are hoping the community can help identify the thief.

The bicycle, a black Specialized Stumpjumper, was taken from a residence in the H section by someone driving what appeared to a be a silver or light blue minivan.

"The suspect put on a yellow traffic type vest to portray he was a possible city or PG&E worker," the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.

Such bicycles typically cost several thousand dollars, new or used.

"If you can identify the suspect vehicle or if someone offers you a great deal for a Specialized Stumpjumper, please contact Rohnert Park Public Safety non-emergency at 707-584-2600 to report," police said. "Please do not approach or try to contact the suspect or suspect vehicle."
