Man Who Shot and Killed Kevin Craft Sentenced to 7 Years

Sentencing stems from the April 22nd shooting of Craft in 2011

District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced today in a press release that Berry Lamiris Adams of Sacramento was sentenced today by Judge Dana Simonds. For the count of possession of a firearm he received an aggregate sentence of seven years. The base term for that crime is normally three years but was doubled due to Adams having a prior strike for residential burglary. An addition year was added on because Adams had been recently released from a separate prison commitment.

Adams was involved in the shooting death of Kevin Craft on April 22 of 2011 at the Best Western Inn in Rohnert Park. The case was investigated by Detective Kelly Koffler. Evidence gathered at the scene indicated that Craft was attempting to rob a known prostitute at gun point when Adams shot and killed Craft. Adams then fled the scene with the prostitute.

Approximately six months later Adams was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada on a $500,000 warrant by Kelly Koffler and Jeff Nicks, from the Department of Public Safety's investigations bureau, with assistance from Las Vegas police.
