COTATI, CA — Three individuals were arrested last week in connection with the attempted theft of a catalytic converter from a parked vehicle in Cotati, according to authorities.

After a neighbor reported seeing the theft in-progress Thursday at about 4 p.m., officers responded to the scene, the Cotati Police Department said.

"The suspect vehicle was a GMC Yukon, parked behind a Honda Accord. One of the suspects was standing by, acting as the lookout, while the other began lifting the Accord with a jack, to then use a Sawzall to cut the catalytic converter off of the Honda," police said.

"There was also a third suspect in the area who was seen exiting the Yukon, and proceeded to walk through the shopping center parking lot to disassociate herself from the crime."

The three suspects were arrested and booked on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime, vehicle tampering, burglary tools, attempted grand theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine, officials said.
