Putting words into action
Book to Action aims to address important issues in the community and to encourage reading, community discussion, and action. Themes that participating libraries and communities are invited to focus on are Equity, Sustainability, and Health. California Center for the Book, California Library Association and the California State Library are pleased to have over 100 library locations join in the community engagement initiative.
The Sacramento Public Libraryβs program theme is Mental Health/Self-care for the Caregiver. Through a series of programs the library will provide local caregivers and first responders with education on best self-care practices; connect patrons with local resources; and to invite the community to take action by connecting, volunteerism and community engagement.
