SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect cooler temperatures to start off the week followed by a warming trend, according to the National Weather Service.
"Temperatures remain below normal until Wednesday with a deep marine layer and perhaps morning drizzle early week," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Sunday. "Warmer weather returns for the end of the week as high pressure builds."
In other news, a man was cited for allegedly pepper-spraying a moviegoer who was using a cell phone during a film; three people were rescued from a commercial fishing boat that was taking on water; and three people were injured in a crash involving a patrol car.
Also, a rideshare driver was accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old passenger and a vehicle sank in the harbor after witnesses reported seeing three people emerge from the water and leave the scene.
Plus, California health officials are warning the public that a person who was hospitalized for measles and who was not vaccinated recently traversed the state by train and bus, traveling to cities in southern, central and northern California.
