Since 2000, the Howell Foundation has awarded nearly $800,000 to 347 undergraduate and graduate university research students pursuing scientific innovation in women’s health. The Howell Foundation’s academic partners – the California State University System, University of California San Diego, and the Hahn School of Nursing at the University of San Diego – make it possible for the nonprofit organization to inspire careers focused on researching women-specific health issues to close the gender gap in women’s health research.

According to CSUPERB, 87% of students who receive support during their scientific development continue to pursue a career in science.
