SAN DIEGO, CA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.
But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect a chance of showers this week, according to the National Weather Service.
"Cooler conditions expected for much of this week. Increased winds and periods of precipitation expected for the middle the week," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Sunday. "Dry conditions expected to return for Friday and Saturday with increased chances of precipitation and winds for early next week."

In other news, a burglar dropped through a ceiling to steal from a jewelry store; a man suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds in an apparent road rage shooting; an armed hit-and-run suspect was fatally shot by deputies; and three people escaped injury when a plane landed on a highway.
Also, all employees at a Southern California daycare facility seen on video surveillance witnessing a teacher throwing a shoe at a 5-year-old autistic student and not reporting the attack have been fired, authorities said.

Plus, in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, the Seattle Seahawks' defense completely overwhelmed the Patriots. The Seahawks' defense turned out the lights on New England in Super Bowl LX, holding the Patriots to just 13 points.

Paramedics rushed two men and a woman to a hospital, where one of the men died from his injuries.
Homicide detectives were sent to the scene, officials said.

He was taken into custody after about three hours, police said.

Mountain Biker Dies In Remote Area Of Los Angeles
Paramedics performed CPR on the 50-year-old man to no avail, and subsequently pronounced him dead at the scene.
Mountain Biker Rescued From Inaccessible Area In Riverside County
The mountain biker suffered moderate injuries and was rushed to a hospital by ground ambulance, according to the department.
By late morning Saturday, the CHP was still working on getting the plane removed from the highway, officials said.
