SDG&E Customers To Get Credit On April Bill
"The Climate Credit is one of several statewide tools designed to help customers while California reduces emissions."
SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Gas & Electric customers can expect a break on their energy bill this month, thanks to the California Climate Credit.
SDG&E residential customers will receive a $32.58 natural gas credit on their April bills. The program, administered by the California Public Utilities Commission, is aimed at addressing climate change.
The $49.36 electric credit, which previously appeared on April and October bills, will be distributed later this year during higher-billed months, likely August and September, pending a California Public Utilities Commission vote on April 30.

The change is intended to provide more support when energy costs are highest. If approved, all eligible residential electric customers — including Community Choice Aggregation and master-metered customers — will receive the electric Climate Credit during those months.
"The Climate Credit is one of several statewide tools designed to help customers while California reduces emissions," said Dana Golan, chief customer officer for SDG&E. "We recognize the pressure energy costs can place on household budgets and remain focused on helping customers access available support and assistance."

The credit is funded through the state's Cap-and-Invest Program that requires polluters to pay for climate pollution.
Billing cycles vary for customers, so not everyone will see the bill credit at the same time in April.
