Authorities also shut down Skyline Truck Trail between Lawson Valley and Honey Springs roads due to the fire.

All evacuation orders and road closures were lifted around 6:30 p.m.

The fire, which moved at a moderate rate of speed, sparked amid a heat wave expected to last through Thursday in the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Elsewhere in the county, crews worked to contain three fires on Camp Pendleton. The fires have scorched thousands of acres on the military base, but posed no threats to people or structures on and off the base, officials said.

Crews also responded to a slow-moving brush fire that sparked off Mast Boulevard, near Sycamore Landfill and the southeastern reaches of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
