SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should know that there's a chance for thunderstorms this week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Temperatures are expected to remain several degrees below normal early this week as a dry upper level trough sits over the area," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. "A warming trend will begin Tuesday with 1-3 degrees of warming each day through next weekend. Some monsoonal moisture may bring a few showers and thunderstorms to the mountains and Antelope Valley late in the week."
