'Antisemitic, Homophobic' Graffiti Found On San Francisco Church ; Man Charged With Hate Crime: PD
The damage estimates exceeded $20,000, police say.
SAN FRANCISCO, NY â A man was arrested after reports of antisemitic and homophobic graffiti on a San Francisco church, police said.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, on Saturday at about 8:45 a.m., officers responded to the report on the 2800 block of California Street.
Officers arrived and found the church buildings and city utilities graffitied in fresh paint with swastikas and other antisemitic and homophobic words, police said.

Officers located a suspect, 51-year-old Sadat Mousa, and established probable cause to place him under arrest, police said.

Mousa was booked in San Francisco County jail and faces multiple charges, including felony vandalism "with a hate crime enhancement," police said.
"This kind of hateful act will never be tolerated in our city," said SFPD Chief Derrick Lew. "We will do everything in our power to protect our communities and ensure justice is served in this case. I want to thank our officers who acted swiftly to make an arrest in this case."
