During the gallery tour, Potes will share stories behind some of the featured pieces and insights into the creation of the photography magazine.Founded in 2001 by Ray Potes in collaboration with his brother, David, and friend, Stefan Simikich, Hamburger Eyes has blazed a trail in documentary photo publishing and created a style that is simultaneously raw and profound. With distinct black-and-white photos that capture vignettes of everyday life, Hamburger Eyes encompasses the pendulum swing of human emotion, showcasing moments ranging from urban distress to childlike wonder. Dear San Francisco is the critically-acclaimed intimate and immersive circus experience created by Bay Area natives and The 7 Fingers co-founders Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider. Since opening in September 2021, Dear San Francisco has entertained over 100,000 locals and visitors. The production invites locals and visitors alike on a heart-stopping romp through both the essence and the myth that has San Francisco indelibly etched on our collective imagination. From the 1906 earthquake and Summer of Love to beat poetry and the mysterious fog, San Francisco comes vividly to life through a series of tableaus (acts), including hoop diving, Chinese pole, Korean plank, juggling, and “hand-to-trap” (a form first created by Shana Carroll), performed by an international cast of world-class acrobats.
