Join us for the District 9 Mission Family Summit! The This Is Your City: Family Summit Series invites families, caregivers, young people, and community members from across San Francisco to help shape the future of our city.

Free food, childcare, and interpretation are provided. Please note all interpretation requests must be made 48 hours or more prior to the Family Summit.
Who should attend? Everyone is welcome. This event highlights District 9, but you can attend any Family Summit that fits your schedule.
Why are we gathering? The Family Summit Series is part of San Francisco's first Citywide Community Needs Assessment. Through conversations with families across the city, we're learning what matters most to children, youth, young adults, and families. What we learn will help improve future planning, programs, and services.
Whether you've lived in San Francisco your whole life or recently made it your home, your experiences and ideas matter.
District 9 Neighborhoods include: Mission District, Bernal Heights, the Portola, and the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Rise Over Run brings Latin Nights to the rooftop with live DJs spinning salsa and Latin favorites!
Salsa takes over the rooftop at Rise Over Run at Timbri hotel on Thursday, October 8. The evening kicks off with a beginner-friendly salsa &amp; reparto class with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/delvissavigne/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">@delvissavigne</a> from 6 - 7 pm, followed by open dancing, music by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/anejoprod/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">@djwaltdigz</a> &amp; <a href="https://www.instagram.com/djleydis/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">@djleydis</a> and cocktails overlooking the San Francisco skyline.

He received a B.A. at Stanford University for political science in 2014. He was born in Sweden, grew up in Chile, and moved to Oakland when he was eight.</li><li>Patrick Ford, Executive Director, <a target="_blank" href="https://sfethics.org/" rel="nofollow noopener">San Francisco Ethics Commission</a> – Pat has served as the Ethics Commission's Executive Director since January 2024, after joining in 2017 as Director of Enforcement. He leads the agency's mission to administer campaign finance laws, investigate violations, and safeguard government integrity.</li><li>Darius Kemp, Executive Director, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.commoncause.org/california/" rel="nofollow noopener">California Common Cause</a> – Darius brings over two decades in civil rights, organizing, and advocacy through roles at SEIU, Peace Corps, UC Student Association, Working America, and Eaze Technologies. He holds degrees from Alabama A&amp;M University, the University of Birmingham, and UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy.</li><li>Moderator: Lila LaHood, Executive Director, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.sfpublicpress.org/" rel="nofollow noopener">San Francisco Public Press</a> – Lila is a member of San Francisco’s Sunshine Ordinance Task Force and on the board of directors of the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Brooklyn Rider has sculpted a singular space in the world of string quartets with a gripping performance style and unquenchable appetite for musical adventure.Celebrating twenty years of shared musical exploration, Brooklyn Rider originated in a living room, four friends in search of an outlet for their curiosities. Inspired by the probing spirit of Germany's pre-WW1 artistic collective Der Blaue Reiter, they recognized parallels with their creative community in Brooklyn and began to build projects. In the two decades since, the quartet has carved a singular space in the world of string quartets through thoughtful programmatic framing, deep-rooted collaborations, and innovative commissioning projects.
