Caltrans Repaving Highway 1

Here's where to expect overnight closures in San Francisco.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Caltrans has started a one-year, $12 million project to repave two sections of state Highway 1 in San Francisco, the agency announced Thursday.

Caltrans scheduled paving and grinding work for late summer or early fall between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. The first section of the highway crews will repave extends for about one mile from the southern city limits to Holloway Avenue, near the main entrance to San Francisco State University, the agency wrote in a press release.

The second section, about two miles long, stretches from Lincoln Way at the southern edge of Golden Gate Park to Presidio Parkway, near the approach to the Golden Gate Bridge, Caltrans officials said.
