Cash App Founder, 43, Stabbed To Death In San Francisco
Bob Lee, a tech executive who had recently relocated to Miami, was killed in the stabbing overnight Tuesday.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA ā Bob Lee, a tech executive who was the founder of Cash App and also served as the CTO of Square, was killed in a stabbing in San Francisco overnight Tuesday. He was 43.
Lee most recently served as the chief product officer at MobileCoin. Lee's father, Rick Lee, confirmed in a post on Facebook that his son was killed in the stabbing that was reported in the 300 block of Main Street around 2:35 a.m. Tuesday. Rick Lee shared that he and his son relocated to Miami in October from the Bay Area.
"Life has been an adventure with two bachelors living together, and Iām so happy that we were able to become so close these last years," Rick Lee wrote.

"Bob would give you the shirt off his back. He would never look down on anyone and adhered to a strict no-judgment philosophy. Bobby worked harder than anyone and was the smartest person I have ever known. He will be missed by all those that knew him. Thank you to those who have reached out in support," the post said.
Josh Goldbard, the CEO of his current employer MobileCoin, referred to Lee as a brother who wasn't just a technologist but an artist.

"Our dear friend and colleague, Bob Lee passed away yesterday at the age of 43, survived by a loving family and collection of close friends and collaborators," Goldbard said in a statement. "Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature. Bob was the genuine article. He was made for the world that is being born right now, he was a child of dreams, and whatever he imagined, no matter how crazy, he made real."
San Francisco Police officers found the 43-year-old with apparent stab wounds, the department said in a news release later that evening. Authorities gave the man emergency medical care before he was taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.
Police said the stabbing is being investigated as a homicide and no arrests have been made.
Among the tributes shared on social media for Lee was one from former MMA fighter Jake Shields, who called Lee a "loyal friend."
"I just found out my good friend was killed last night while walking him in San Francisco," Shields wrote in an earlier tweet, adding that Lee had been in a "good" part of the city.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk replied to Shields' tweet saying he was "very sorry" to learn about Lee's death. According to his LinkedIn profile, Lee was an investor in Musk's SpaceX.
Lee is survived by his wife Krista and their two children, according to ABC News.
"This is an open and active investigation. For that reason we are not releasing further information," Officer Niccole Pacchetti, a public information officer, said in an email to The Associated Press. "We will provide further details when they become available."
