Foster Farms To Donate 800 Turkeys To Food Bank

The food bank provides groceries to needy families in San Francisco and Marin counties.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Foster Farms will deliver nearly 13,000 pounds of turkey to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank in San Francisco on Nov. 14.

The 800 turkeys, more than 16,200 servings, will be stored in the food bank's San Francisco warehouse at 900 Pennsylvania Ave. before distribution to help feed local families.

The local donation is part of the 105,000 meals Foster Farms will provide to west coast families this Thanksgiving.

One in five people in San Francisco and Marin County are food insecure, and statewide, one in eight adults and one in five children struggle with food insecurity, according to the SF-Marin Food Bank.

The SF-Marin Food Bank is inviting Bay Area residents to donate turkeys and other traditional Thanksgiving dinner food to help families in need.
