The showers that dampened the weekend are expected to persist through Monday. According to the National Weather Service, the the North Bay, the Peninsula, and area east of the Diablo Range have the highest chance of rain.

Forecasters warned of the potential for lightning storms and heavy rainfall in some areas. The unsettled weather could create waterspouts, according to the weather service.
