SAN FRANCISCO, CA — More than one hundred people gathered at the United States Postal Service in San Francisco on Saturday for the unveiling of the first-ever stamp honoring lowriders.

Rows of old school and classic cars lined up along the 1300 block of Evans Avenue starting in the morning. Dozens more filled up the parking lots in the surrounding area, the bright sun reflecting off the polished coats on each vehicle.

The stamp was made in partnership with the San Francisco Lowrider Council, an advocacy group founded by Roberto Hernández in the early 1980s that promotes and preserves lowrider culture.
